Info SE European Football Index

The SE European Football Index was lanched on 25th of March 2022

Purpose

The purpose of the Standard Ethics European Football Index is on the one hand, to provide an overview of Sustainability within the industry and the football community and, on the other hand, to monitor the steps European clubs are taking in this area concerning their alignment to OECDEU and UN voluntary indications. Each Standard Ethics Index is an Open Free Sustainability Index and offers full disclosure: the methodology, selection criteria, and calculation formula are public and can therefore be used for free as a benchmark by decision makers and stakeholders. It is neither a financial product nor is it marketed to finance firms, banks, or investment funds.

Consituents

This is a thematic Index consisting of 15 of Europe's largest currently listed football clubs. The components were mainly selected based on their economic size. Other factors were also considered, including the availability of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) data; extra-financial and financial reporting; the quality of disclosure and the availability of multilingual documentation.

Rebalancing and Review

The Index, being weighted according to Corporate SER assigned to each constituent, is active and therefore rebalanced monthly.

The Index is reviewed every six months, at the end of the first and third quarter.

Changes to ratings will be recorded only on the dates when the review is scheduled to take place.
