Info Food&Beverage Sustainability Italian Benchmark

The Standard Ethics Food&Beverage Sustainability Italian Benchmark was launched on 18th March 2022.

Purpose

The Food & Beverage Sustainability Italian Benchmark aims to provide an overview of Sustainability within the food industry and assess the progress made in aligning with the international indications established by supranational bodies (EU, OECD and UN). It can be used as a global sustainability benchmark. The analysis will allow companies to compare their current sustainability performance with others in the industry and to consider ways to improve their own ESG processes.

Consituents

The Corporate Standard Ethics Rating (Corporate SER) assigned to each of the Benchmark's components is part of an analysis framework comprising 50 of the largest companies operating in the Italian food industry, from which 30 companies have been selected. Standard Ethics' analysts have examined various aspects such as: corporate sustainability strategies; elements of fair competition; quality of the ESG disclosure with particular attention to sustainability and corporate governance; controversial events; product reporting and other factors.

Rebalancing and Review

The Benchmark, being weighted according to Corporate SER assigned to each constituent, is active and therefore rebalanced monthly.

The Benchmark is reviewed every six months, at the end of the first and third quarter.

Changes to ratings will be recorded only on the dates when the review is scheduled to take place.
